Pelvic scan / Trans Vaginal Scan [TVS] – Generally this is done on day 2 or day 3 of menses. Usually, it is done to evaluate the problems in ovaries like an ovarian cyst, chocolate cyst / ovarian endometrium. These may affect the fertility levels of many women. In addition to hormone tests, the complete examination of the uterus, ovaries is very necessary. Pelvic scan [TVS], Sonohysterogram, hysterosalpingogram, and endometrial biopsy have the exact cause of infertility which can be analyzed.

Sonohysterogram – This is done to evaluate certain problems present inside the uterus and endometrial region. Uterine Fibroids/ polyps evaluation, abnormal uterine shape, uterine scarring can be analyzed. The normal saline fluid is injected into the uterus and through an ultrasound scan, the exact diagnosis of the uterine cavity can be detected.

Evaluation of uterine ultrasound imaging in cervical Radiotherapy

In cervical radiotherapy, it is essential that the uterine position is correctly determined which is given prior to treatment delivery. The auto scan ultrasound (A-US) probe imaging might be a better choice of image-guided radiotherapy system for correcting for daily uterine positional changes in cervical radiotherapy.

Hysterosalpingogram [HSG] – This test is done by passing dye through the fallopian tubes and using an x-ray the tubal patency can be analyzed. Generally done on day 2 of menstrual.

Uterine Cavity Assessment – In today’s world, when testing is done on prospective women, there is clear evidence of implantation problems. This evaluation of uterine cavity analysis can detect many abnormalities present inside the uterus for sub-fertile women. Through Trans Vaginal scan the endometrial lining and cavity can be seen visually. Usually done as a screening test for assessing uterine cavity. If any abnormalities seen on the baseline scan need to be further analyzed with Sonohysterogram and hysteroscopy.
